One of the surprise highlights of this year’s ThrillerFest conference was winning the Best First Sentence Contest.
Thanks to International Thriller Writers and New York Times Bestselling author Don Bentley for this honor. Don is the author ofthe Matt Drake Series, four Tom Clancy Jack Ryan, Jr. novels, and the Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp series.
Don chose my sentence for the award and is now providing feedback on the first ten pages of my thriller manuscript that opens with: “The hole still wasn’t deep enough for Edgar to bury his wife.” This manuscript is still an early work-in-progress, but stay tuned for more updates later this year.
